For me, one of the coolest parts of my Kickstarter campaign was the "Let's write a song together" package. Thanks to Laura (mom) and Dylan (dad), Kevin McNoldy and I had the honor of co-writing "Outsider" with one of the most talented 15-year old's I know - Grace Schmorrow.

Grace recorded the initial song idea with her ukulele and iPhone. Kevin and I spent a day in the studio expanding on the music and lyrics plus recording my vocals. Then, Laura and Grace drove down from Vienna, VA to Kevin's studio in Apex, NC and Grace recorded the background vocals for my version and lead vocals for her own version.

Needless to say, it was an awesome day. Grace has her own version of Outsider out, too.

Verse 1:

everything is just a mess.
Sometimes it's just way too hard
to handle all this stress.
I'm falling, crashing down and I'm really, really scared - just want to hide away to avoid all their stares.
